Anti Wrinkle injection

Service Description:

What is Botox?

Botox was the first FDA-approved prescription product authorized to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles and crow's feet. Botox injections consist of purified proteins produced by Clostridium Botulinum. Botox is also used in other areas of medicine to treat various medical conditions. Botox is a prescription-only medicine. This means that you should first have a detailed face-to-face consultation with an experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse.

How does it work:

A Botox treatment temporarily blocks the transmission of signals from the nerves that normally tell the muscles to contract. It relaxes the underlying muscles and as a result, causes the skin to soften existing fixed lines and wrinkles and also helps prevent static lines from forming, and thus can be used as an anti-wrinkle treatment. Botox can also be used off-license to change the balance between facial muscle groups to create a lift, also known as a non-surgical or chemical eyebrow lift.

Uses for Botox:

Botox can be used for a number of purposes, some of which are off-license:

To soften frown and forehead wrinkles

To soften the crow's feet surrounding the eyes

To create an eyebrow lift

To enhance a gummy smile

To improve a square jaw

To refine the jaw and reduce the bands of the neck

To improve rabbit wrinkles on the nose

To improve smokers' wrinkles around the mouth

To improve a wrinkled chin

The procedure:

The positions, movement and effects of the facial muscles are first examined and marked to make the treatment accurate. Afterwards the botox is administered into the marked areas using a very short super thin needle. Local anesthetic is not necessary as the discomfort is minimal. Downtime is minimal and you can continue your day or return to work as normal.

Do I need a consultation before Botox?

Yes, without a thorough consultation a practitioner will not know what your expected outcomes are or how much Botox to administer to achieve the results you want. Not having a consultation is risky from a health point of view too, as the practitioner won’t have discussed the risks and side-effects with you or be aware of your medical history. Botox takes a minimum of three months to wear off so if you risk having the treatment without a consultation, then you may have to deal with unsatisfactory results for a considerable amount of time.
